The Student Council

Pictured are the members of this year’s Student Council. They will be guided and led by Ms. J. Cotter.

The Role of the Student Council:

Our Student Council is a representative structure consisting of twenty students across all year groups within the school. Students Councils are elected by their peers only. Once selected, they are encouraged to liaise with school affairs by collaborating with school management and staff and parents to improve and maintain a fair and just school life for all.

At Loreto Community School, the role of a Student Council Member involves;

-to enhance communication between students, management and parents

-to promote an environment conducive to educational and personal development

-to promote friendship and respect among pupils

-to support the management and staff in the development of the school

-to represent the views of the students on matters of general concern to them.

Sandwich Toaster Service

This year the SC will provide a service of toasting sandwiches on Tuesday and Wednesday lunchtimes.
This in in response to the needs of the students and responding to The Student Voice.
