Loreto Community School Milford on Tour 2011 - Sixty eight third year Loreto students with seven of their teachers headed off to the lovely Venice and Lake Garda, Italy recently.

After a pleasant flight the students were brought to their hotel and enjoyed some typical Italian food. On Saturday the group went to Venice and visited St. Mark’s Basilica with some even getting time to feed the pigeons in St. Mark’s Square. This was followed by some shopping in the afternoon.

That evening was spent in the Rock Star Cafe. The main highlight for some of the students was on Sunday with a visit to Gardaland Themepark. This is one of Europe’s largest themeparks with an extraordinary mixture of reality and fantasy.

On Monday, the group visited the Zoological Park where they were told to remain in the bus for their own safety!! Monday afternoon was spent in the beautiful city of Verona, the highlights including a visit to the Arena Amphitheatre and Romeo and Juliet’s balcony and house.

On Tuesday it was time to head to the airport for the return journey, back to Ireland. A great time was had by all. The students must be complemented for their excellent behaviour and a big thank you to the teachers Mr. Mc Taggart, Mr. Doherty, Mr. Mac Eoin, Ms. Fitzsimons, Mr. Harmon, Ms. Walker and Ms. Dennehy for giving up their time and for making it so enjoyable.
